will be staying for now, but we’ll be adding some curtains, a rug, new bedding, a new light fixture, and some other fun things to make it feel extra comfortable for the next little while until we’re ready to start tearing down (more) walls..
Having everything in basic grey makes the colors that I do add kind of… colory-er… you know?So having no color in the every day stuff makes the pops of seasonal color even that much more fun and exciting for me and I don’t end up feeling overwhelmed and bored of being stuck with the same thing..
Sometimes the pops of color are family members!I don’t get bored of them though.Even if they wear the same favorite shirt everyday for a week sometimes.. Having everything all matchy matchy now with the everyday stuff makes me feel like the room is really finished and pulled together even if I just kind of stumbled my way through this..
Hide everything!.Right now in this picture there’s so much junk and so many toys hidden that you wouldn’t believe it.
It’s there though!
This way I don’t have to look at a million different colors from toys and stuff messing with my perfect grey back drop.They’re expecting it to be a plain white ceiling and unless there’s anything (like on mine) drawing their attention to it, they won’t notice.
They’ll just notice that your room feels nice and clean and fresh and they won’t be looking for where you messed up, so go easy on yourself!It’s going to look awesome.. Don’t tackle the job on really hot days or in super high humidity.
Painting above your head like that already means you’re going to be more prone to drips than usual, and when you paint in really high heat or humidity, the paint tends to thin out and drip more easily.Painting a ceiling on those days is just a recipe for disaster that you do not need to be serving to yourself..
