Anyway, here’s the lamp without the shade.. We bought a bat and cut it down to the size we wanted.

Hooks are handy. It’s no secret that I love the look of a good hook.

A kid’s room is the perfect place to let all your hook dreams come true.If you’ve ever found yourself picking up 1001 different sweaters, pyjamas, and towels off of the floor, then you know what I’m talking about. You can never have too many hooks.

Numbered hooks might confuse your kids (“Mom!What are the numbers even.

?”), but they look extra cute.

Wall decals are magic. One of the many little things that were bugging me was that the cords from the bedside table lamps were just hanging out there, flapping in the wind for everyone to see.. That outlet is really really in the middle of the wall, right in plain sight.

It’s about as in the middle of that wall as it can get.I could have just painted everything to try to make it blend in with the wall, and that would have been just fine, but I felt like trying something a little more fun..

When you think “beginner sewing projects” you usually think about throw pillows and stuff like that, but trust me, this is about as beginner of a project as you can get, so it’s worth a try if you like this look!.This ruffly covered cord look will definitely be too fussy for some people, but I really like the contrast between the really traditional elements (like the lamps and the button-tufted settee) and some of the more rustic farmhousy elements like my light fixture and this garage-found side table.
